Accessibility Policy

The CTIC Foundation web has adopted a number of measures to improve accessibility. That involves the following benefits:

• It facilitates access to people regardless of their physical conditions or those of their environment. 
• It allows access with different user agents. 
• It includes clear and well-structured contents. 
• It improves the user’s navigation and experience.

Implemented actions:

• The logical order of screen elements and code contents presentation.
• A simplified navigation system composed by a home page, an utility section and a breadcrumbs. 
• Use of W3C standards:
  • XHTML Strict and CSS 2.1 grammar
  • Accessibility guidelines for the Web Content (WCAG level AA).
• Access to main options through keyboard shortcuts

The keyboard shortcuts used are the following:

• 0 : Accessibility Declaration
• 1 : Portal Home
• 2 : Highlighted section
• 3 : Web Map
• 4 : Search
• 5 : Main Navigation
• 6 : Contact Section

The browser determines the use of access keys:

• Internet Explorer: ALT+shortcut+ENTER
• Firefox: ALT+shortcut
• Opera: BLOQ+ESC+shortcut

The web site reaches an AA accessibility level, extended with some points and recommendations belonging to AAA level to improve final accessibility.
